Beef producers can find out more about the Risk Management Insurance Program at a series of meetings that will be held across the province in August and September.
The multi-commodity RMIP for grain and oilseed, cattle, hog, veal, edible horticulture and sheep farmers was unveiled at the end of June. The program was based directly on the insurance based program first contemplated and designed by the farmers themselves to provide the sustainability Ontario’s agri-food and livestock industries need to succeed.
Presentations by experts from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and Agricorp will provide an overview of how the program works and what you need to do to participate.
